Support System
Connecting the Seniors
We have established Teams so that all of our Seniors’ needs are taken care of. We want to be very active, but not burdensome. This will take all of us pulling together so that it is not a burden to anyone. Communication to the group about the needs of someone in our Seniors group seems to be a key. We want you to know about prayer requests, illnesses, trips, etc. We need help from all of you to participate on these teams to make it successful.
Our slogan is to get all of our “Seniors Taking Care of Seniors”. We do not want anyone to be sick, need a prayer partner, need fellowship, or anything else, and not have our Seniors rally around that one to show love and meet the needs. If you can help on any of these teams, or if you need help from any of these teams, please contact the leader over that team.
Social Team for trips, parties, etc. We want to plan one larger trip per quarter, and a small one each of the other months. We want to do something once a month to celebrate the birthdays for that month. We need people to call and arrange plans, decorate, clean up, and much more. This needs to be a large team so that no one is over worked. Ruth and Jim Ferguson, Judie Pantzar, and Wayne and Sue Miller have agreed to help on this team. We still need several others—anyone can pick up birthday cakes, set up tables, clean up, make phone calls……..None of these things just happen, so come on and help, make friends, and have a lot of fun doing it.

Prayer Requests Team is to give each of us way to receive prayer from our entire group when you have a need that needs prayer. We are in the process of setting up a prayer chain of all of our Seniors. Ruth will call two or three, and they will do the same all the way down the line until all are contacted. She will be contacting you to let you know who will call you, and who you are to call. Please be quick to make your calls, and pray diligently for each and every request you receive. Jesus said “Prayer changes things”, so let’s make a difference in the lives of each of our Seniors with a need.

Taking Care of Those Sick or In the Hospital Team is vital to our group. All of us want to know when one of our own Seniors is sick or in the hospital. Contact this team if you are sick, in the hospital, or know one of our Seniors that is. This team will be responsible for communication of this, making sure that hospital visits are made, sending get will cards, organizing meals or other needs where needed, etc. We need several people who have a desire to help in this area---just phone calls and prayer, carrying someone to the doctor that needs it, taking a meal over when needed, etc.

Volunteer Team is so important to our Seniors. We want to know if you are volunteering in any area of our church at the present time. Please call and let us know. We want to get the places in our church that need help, and see if we have anyone that can fill the need. Our Seniors are a wealth of life experience, and spiritual knowledge. We want to get more of our Seniors plugged in to “doing the work of the ministry” when they can. We want to make sure that some are not overworked. We want to take care of the needs, but take care of our Seniors doing the “ministry” as well.
