Christie is the full-time director who is degreed in Child Development and has been in the child care industry for over 15 years. One of her main responsibilities is to ensure the safety and care for our children, using the Minimum Standard Rules for Licensed Child-Care Centers as our guide. Mrs. Cofer has been with Kidz R Life since the beginning and helped design the layout of the classrooms as well as the programs being implemented. Mrs. Christie hires and manages the teachers, setting the center's guidelines and expectations for excellence in performance.

Her purpose is to commit to the vision of NLWC by assuring that children are ministered to and provide for their physical, emotional, mental, social, and moral-spiritual needs. Our objective is to provide a safe, loving and educational environment through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. In doing so, by faith we will provide an outreach to families and all children enrolled.

    “Reaching Out and Raising Up
    the Children of Our Community”

Kids R Life (KRL) was started in August 2007. It provides a program of preschool classes for infants through five-year olds and school age children after school, during holidays and summer vacations. KRL is governed by a church – appointed committee and administered by the Director.

Each member of the teaching staff are well trained and posses the competency and understanding essential in teaching young children with a spiritual prospective.

Illness

Parents will be called if signs of illness occur during the day. A child will be sent home if there is a temperature of 100.4 with other symptoms, two incidents of diarrhea, vomiting, or if they cannot participate comfortably in class activities. A child may return to school 24 hours after he/she is free of temperature or symptoms, or with a doctor's release.

It is the policy at Kids R Life that we DO NOT ADMINISTER OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS WITHOUT INSTUCTIONS FROM THE DOCTOR.

An authorization form must be on file with SPECIFIC instructions according to the label and signed by a parent.

If the child has a prescription, the medication MUST be in its original container and clearly labeled with the child’s full name.

Meals & Food Service

Meals will be provided to each child daily at an additional cost. Snacks are included in the tuition cost. If a child’s lunch is brought from home, the center is no longer responsible for its nutritional value or for meeting the child’s daily food needs. Unless prior arrangements have been made, the child will be encouraged to eat what was sent by the parent.

Food from home is allowed especially during special occasions such as holidays. We ask that if parents want to share food with other children at the center, it must be store bought and brought in the original container. Children will be offered what is on the menu. Children will be encouraged but not forced to eat.

Tuition & Payments

Each child is a priority with his/her parents; therefore, childcare tuition should be a priority in each family’s budget. KRL is dedicated to careful fiscal responsibility and good stewardship in our operation. Tuition will be charged at the rate for a child’s age on September 1st. Tuition will remain at that rate for one year.

Tuition is charged in advance at a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly rate.

Curriculum

We use the WEE Learn Curriculum Guide for all ages. It is the basis for our planning. We use Bible thoughts, songs, and stories about Jesus and the Bible in daily interactions with each child. We also incorporate the educational components such as math, language arts, science, and art.

Every Wednesday morning the kids will attend “Worship World”, where they will participate in a unique experience of Praise songs and a short bible verse on their level. Through interactive media such as TV and CDs, the children will learn who they are, who made them, and how God sees them.

School-age Children We pick up after school at three elementary schools; Whitehouse-Cain, Tyler-Cumberland, and Bullard ISD. We also provide full day accommodations during teacher workdays and holidays. During the summer months, we have a full calendar of field trips and activities to make the summer at “The KidZone” a fun place to be!
