Raised in a minister's home, Pastor Jesse grew up loving the Lord and seeking His will for his life.  At the young age of 11 he learned how to play the saxophone by joining the praise and worship team.  Through his love of music he has taught himself to play various other instruments. Along with music, football has played a major roll in Jesse's life.  His freshman year of college he played football at Bethune Cookman College located in Daytona Beach, FL. There Jesse experienced extreme forms of persecution because of his integrity.  After a year of challenges,  the Lord called Jesse to full time ministry.  His path was redirected to attend Lee University where he served as a dorm chaplain and resident assistant for three years.  Jesse has actively participated in ministry since he was young by speaking at kids camps and youth camps and crusades.  While at Lee University, Jesse met his wife Lindsey and received a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries in December 2007.

Lindsey, a true southern belle from Meridian, MS, was also a part of a god-fearing family which aided in the development of her character. She has been singing in church since she was 6 years old and has been classically trained. At twelve the Lord called her into full time ministry while at a summer youth camp. She developed her talents, gifts, and knowledge while attending Lee University, located in Cleveland, TN. While in school she was an active member and leader in various clubs such as the Lee Singers and the Public Relations Student Society of America. In December 2006 she graduated from Lee University, with two degrees in Bible and Theology, and Communications: Public Relations. Lindsey has been a guest speaker for women's conferences and a guest vocalist for various events in the southeast and mid-atlantic.

On July 7, 2007 the young couple married in Cleveland, TN. They moved to Maryland in January 2008 to evangelize, until the Lord directed their paths to Tyler, TX in June 2008.  Together the couple makes a dynamic team that is eager to bring fresh fire to New Life Worship Center's youth.

Engage Student Ministries

II Timothy 2:22 “…pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Purpose Statement: Engage Student Ministries’ purpose is to passionately engage teens in Christ’s two greatest commandments: to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and to love the people around you.

Our Mission:

Engaging in Intimacy with Christ: Engage seeks to draw teens into a deep desire for intimacy with Christ. Scripture states, “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment,” Matthew 22:37. A desire for intimacy with Christ comes with a realization of what the Word of God is, what God means by what He says, and what is expected by believing in the Word. Intimacy comes with discipleship and understanding of the Word. Understanding of the Word of God births knowledge of God which in turn increases one’s passion and desire for Christ. Engaging in intimacy with Christ happens when teens deny their selfish ambitions and come to the Lord with thirsty, open hearts. Once in that humble place God’s love can take the imperfect and perfect it with His touch of love. Engaging in Relationship with Each Other: Engage seeks to develop teen’s relationships with each other, youth leaders, parents, friends, and the world. Ephesians 4:4 states “there is one body and one Spirit.” The body of Christ consists of all who have found new life in Christ and His table is made complete by many races and cultures. Engage creates an environment where people of all backgrounds, circumstances, and races feel welcomed—they are a part of the body. Teens will be challenged to live a life as Christ explains and to love each other as Christ does.

Engage is for teens ages 14-19 and meets every Wednesday night in the youth sanctuary. Teens are invited to participate in energizing praise and worship and relevant messages that utilize humor, scripture, and engage students spiritually. Engage is a place for any breathing teen to come and feel accepted.
